Warlock Guide for Surviving in WoW
The following World of Warcraft warlock guide will try to communicate to you everything you need to understand to begin with warlocks. The warlock class focuses primarily on DoT’s, shadow bolts, and conjuring demons. Casting dark spells of torment and suffering are the warlock’s stock in trade. Though warlocks are unable to go head to head in a melee fight, they easily compensate for it by hurling damaging spells from a safe distance. A lot of talents require the utilization of soul shards, which a warlock has to obtain by killing enemies. Warlocks are quite possibly the fastest class to level with particularly when soloing. In a group, warlocks are often the biggest DPS dealers.
This class is a choice that is only available to the Blood Elf, Gnome, Human, Orc, and Undead races. Since warlocks are classified as a caster class, they are allowed only to use cloth armor. As for weapons, they’re limited to wands, staves, swords and daggers.
Probably the coolest ability of the warlock is demon summoning (Doomguard, Felguard, Felhunter, Imp, Infernal, Succubus, and Voidwalker). Every minion has unique benefits that you can exploit. Warlocks possess a wide variety of magic spells at their command including damage over time spells (DoT’s), direct damage spells (DD’s), and many utility spells. They are even able to conjure up various items and resurrect fallen players by expending soul shards. Other skills include self healing via drain life, and CC (crowd control with fear spells. Since warlocks are able to acquire their mounts via quests, they save bucket loads of money that the other characters have to pay.
Affliction talents are geared toward bolstering DoT’s, drains, and curses. This spec is good for raiding, boss killing, and farming. This spec is the best spec for leveling.
Demonology talents are geared toward summoning more powerful demon minions and enhancing your summoning and conjuration spells. For player versus player, Demonology is a an excellent spec. For power leveling, it’s almost as good as Affliction. You’ll be extremely reliant on your demons with this spec.
The Destruction specialization raises the direct damage capabilities of both your fire and shadow group of spells. Your warlock can do ridiculous amounts of damage, but the downside is that you’ll have lower survivability. This spec is hard to use effectively at low level and is most often played after players get to higher levels. Be aware that this spec isn’t so great for solo play. Also, keep in mind that it suffers from low mana efficiency and has a heavy dependency on farming soul shards. However, it is really satisfying to watch health bars go to zero at lightning speed.
