What’s wrong with my Magellan RoadMate 2000 GPS system?

I was driving in NYC the other day with my GPS system and all of a sudden it started acting crazy! I was using it to help me find my way back to the Lincoln Tunnel and all of a sudden it started to fast foward and complete the trip. It didn’t stop there either, it just kept moving really fast in different places, like it had a glitch or something. It seems fine now, but I’m very worried the next time I need it for a big trip. What caused it to do this? Has anyone else had this issue with the Magellan RoadMate 2000?
