Will gently leaning a Plasma Tv screen against your knee damage it?

My friend did this during installation and although the picture looks great…I just want to make sure some type of damage wasn’t done that just isn’t visible yet! I’m debating on returning it!
It is my understanding that there is at least one layer of glass should have prevented this from causing any damage to the underlying plasma cells. Is this correct?
