Plasma screen TV hanging help?

I just purchased a plasma screen TV by LG
i want to hang it into a wall
BUT
the wall is really soft
(i live in an apartment)
do you think a 52"inch plasma screen TV will be able to be lifted by a wall that is as soft as chalk?
how does the mount work
i want to think twice before i purchase one
please help me out!
